A Little Maintenance

Okay, it's that time of the year when maintenance on your garden begins.  The mundane part of gardening that makes it a little less fun, at least for me.  And there are some maintenance items that cannot wait.  The first one to take care of is your lilacs.
Lilacs start out as some of the first things to brighten the garden, but they are also some of the first things that need a little love. I swear, just a little time pays dividends.  So you need to get out your clippers or just use your fingers to snip off the dead blooms.   They are pretty easy to just break off with your fingers but sometimes when you have a large bush it is easier with a little mechanical advantage.  This will help your bushes intent upon making next year's blooms not on seeds for this year.  Just get out there, and snip, snip, snip.
